I know for the most part alot of cars have engine components that restricts the car from breathing better which decrease horsepower and torgue. I wanted to know if you change parts on the car(intake/exhaust)etc to help it breath better and more efficently, will it increase your cars horsepower and torque?

My Ram 2500 is a pretty tall truck, I was working in Rockford Ilinois one day and seen an Octopus Car wash, I pulled in, asked the guy, is this truck too tall? Nope, Okay, had the truck washed, everything was fine, after I left I noticed the wipers were not tucked down tight any more they were up like 8 inches. I went back the next day to complain to the manager and he gave me some bull that "we have a touchless system, bla. bla , bla, it was not us"
You don't have to be Columbo, they were fine before the car wash and messed up after.
So I live with this anoying problem but over the next few months the wipers stop higher and higher. Now when the wipers are off, they are in the highest possible position (like straight up and down)
I figured out how to take the wipers off of the shaft and I put them back on where they belong but then when you turn the wipers on, they don't move because they think they are still up high and are trying to push down instead of come up. Anyone Help??????

I have a '97 dodge dakota 318 5-speed manual, I have a couple of questions.
1. I am looking to purchase a 360 and rebuild it. Will the 360 mount up to the 5-speed trans. I know that the factory did not offer this set-up.
2. If I go with the 360 will my throttle body assembly and fuel lines fit up?

It happens when i come to stop at a light or after i stop (for gas) and crusing down the highway it starts to cut off and i have to restart on road.
I think it is some sensor because i replaced:

Fuel pump - (in tank) It was going bad anyway as it turned out (no fuel pressure - not up to spec) so this was good
TPS throttle position sensor
Ignition Coil
Distributor Coil
Idle Air Cntrol
Rotor/distbutor
Plug wires
Plugs
Air filter.
Of course, It runs much better as these DID need changing but, it still stalls. Seems to be no way to predict conditions that occur to cause the engine

shutdown. I noticed the lights did go out once when it was about to stall. But that doesnt happen every time.

I dont have enough $ to replace all the sensors and / or the EMT computer (unless you know that is what is wrong).
The van usually starts back up but sometimes with difficulty. Sometimes I must turn off the key and try again to get it started. Otherwise, if I start

cranking it then it doesn't fire up. It's like it is not getting fuel, but, see details below for what I have replaced.

Anyway, no codes come back. it failed while on the analyzer and they still couldnt figure it out. I was told a relay could be bad too. I switched all the

identical relays around but no luck.
--------------
The parts I want to try next are expensive so I am trying to narrow this down:

Ignition Switch
Crank position sensor
Cam position sensor
MCU (computer)

I have a 85 Dodge Charger 2.2 and am trying to find the FACTORY lower seat cushion covers. I know they will be very hard to find but maybe one of you guys have a source or stash?? They are a kinda silver velour type material on the centers and the charcoal color vynil material on the out edges. I can get a factory part number for them if anyone needs them. Please dont respond if your going to tell me to go to autozone or some crap like that cause thats not what Im looking for. Thanks!

Much confusion with the intake gaskets @_@

We have a 5.2 318, and an old holley intake.

The gasket set we have has 5 gaskets. @_@

(the engine block is an 87, but its going into a 78 ramcharger.)

replacing the old 360 which threw a rod..

Sorry, anyhow.

gaskets.

Uh, we have 2 blue ones, with a kind of papery stuff on them, with all kinds of holes for water passages, which the block doesnt have.

two silver, aluminum ones, which do NOT have those extra water passages. only the holes the block has.

However, they have little flanges on them, which slip nicely into the blue gaskets.

Thirdly, we have an extra silver gasket for the passenger side, with a heavily restricted passage, in the CENTER hole. the big one..

So.. we're totally lost, and our book isn thelping us out.

Thanks!

I have a 69' Charger with a 383 and it will not for any reason start if it is less than 40 degrees. And if it gets above 40 but was less than that the night before it will not start either. I was once able to get it started by having a fully charged battery, then jumping the car at the same time to give it an extra jolt of juice. It has transistorised ignition, new high output coil, new plugs, hot plug wires, and aftermarket Edelbrock intake and carb. No hopped up cam or fancy valvetrain. I have tried to take some parts off and bring them into the house to get them warm, and then put them back on and start it. This did not help either. Any help on this frustrating matter is appreciated, seeing as this is my only means of transport, leaving me stranded at home.

That didn't work. The A/C works fine, what would the problem be? Is it just the heating coil and what should that run to be replaced?
Tks!
