My Ram 2500 is a pretty tall truck, I was working in Rockford Ilinois one day and seen an Octopus Car wash, I pulled in, asked the guy, is this truck too tall? Nope, Okay, had the truck washed, everything was fine, after I left I noticed the wipers were not tucked down tight any more they were up like 8 inches. I went back the next day to complain to the manager and he gave me some bull that "we have a touchless system, bla. bla , bla, it was not us"
You don't have to be Columbo, they were fine before the car wash and messed up after.
So I live with this anoying problem but over the next few months the wipers stop higher and higher. Now when the wipers are off, they are in the highest possible position (like straight up and down)
I figured out how to take the wipers off of the shaft and I put them back on where they belong but then when you turn the wipers on, they don't move because they think they are still up high and are trying to push down instead of come up. Anyone Help??????

the car wash probably didn't cause the problem with it,you,ll have to replace the whole complete motor on that one the control unit is built in to it and it wont help to keep moving the wiper arms around,it still wont work right,id just replace it and be done with it ,that's the only option you have with this one, good luck ,and merry x-mas.

you need to set them on the right position. I am not too familiar with the ones on your truck but there is a mark on most wiper arms and on the key that they sit on to tell you where the wiper should seat. Next time don't turn on your wipers inside the car wash so they don't get power washed out of alignment. If the key is striped you can buy the replacement for under 20 bucks a side at your local parts store, and the arms for about 40 a piece but is usually the key that strips so it can be replaced easier and cheaper.

Could also be caused by a bad "park" switch in the wiper motor....this switch determines when the wipers should be at the rest or "Park" position and turns off the power to the wiper motor at that time. A bad park switch will turn off the wipers at any number of positions. It may be coincidental that this happened while in the car wash.

I don't think the car wash started the problem...
Are you removing each wiper arm and setting them back a couple teeth? That would only be a temporary fix. It sounds like the problem is with the wiper motor itself. You never stated the year but I would remove the motor and even open it up to inspect it...it could be a switch or possibly stripped teeth on the motor. I fixed one in the 80's that used plastic internal parts that broke in the the wiper motor!

After you take the wiper arms off the shaft, leave them off, and turn the wiper motor on and let it run for a second or two, then turn the wiper motor off. Then reinstall the wiper arms in the lowest position. Done.

the car wash did not cause the problem. the park switch in the motor is bad. removing the wiper arms and reinstalling in a different postion will not help anything. you need to replace the wiper motor.

The all in one activate the column won't cope with the amp draw of the wiper motor so which you're able to desire to have relays on your distribution container. look under the disguise to locate which relay works the wipers and change that one with one which is the comparable length and spot if that works.
