it is a 2000 with the 318 v8 I have put three new belt on in the last 5 monthes replaceed the idealer & the whole tension assembly

its probably a belt getting worn some ,and the pulleys will wear down with the belt and cause that too happen,usually replacing a belt will stop that from happening,you might want to have it checked though,if its doing this now that means the belt is getting old,and could break later on,it would be better to replace it now than wait,good luck with it.,,PS you may also want to inspect the pulleys real good on that one,when they get worn down bad enough even a new belt wont stop them from squealing,good luck.

Milton 6509 and Dodge Man are thinking like me. I work in the transportation dept. of a private school and one of the drivers complained of a squealing noise from a Ford E-350 cutaway (don't ask, just accept it's a minibus) with 83,000 miles on the odometer. I found the serpentine belt had split for a distance of six or seven inches, replaced the belt, squeal gone. It could be something else but I'd start with a good inspection of the belt.

all I can say is loose fan belts . they need to be tighten or something
