Go with a rebuilt half shaft like Justin C explained. Just replaced the right side on a '90 Dynasty with a 3.3 engine. Left it on a jack stand while I took the old one to Advance Auto for a new one. Not a difficult job at all, take your time and be careful! Use jackstands. Had to loosen the swaybar on the left side as well so I could swing it down out of the way to drop the ball joint assembly on the right side. Definitely go with a rebuilt shaft, it's worth the money which was I think $59.95. Good Luck.

you have to remove the tire then the caliper then the rotor, then remove the large nut that holds the axle in then remove the tie rod end,and then remove the lower ball joint, then the whole lower arm will swing out so that the axle can be removed, you,ll have to pry the axle out of the transmission but it will pop out ,then you can remove the axle,id recommend that you replace the axle in it because 9 times out of ten when you just replace the boots they will give problems, especially on that old of a vehicle, they only cost around 50 bucks and its a lot easier to replace it than to repair it,you might also want to get a good repair manual on this vehicle the Haynes manuals are real nice to own they have pics in them as well as good info on how to do this and many other jobs, good luck with it and have a merry x-mas.

you have to remove the tire, remove the caliper and rotor.then take off the axle nut then you have to take off the bolt holding the ball joint in.separate the ball joint from the spindle using a picklefork, pull the spindle/strut assembly towards you then push the c/v axle in from the spindle then pull the c/v axle out of transmission then buy a cv boot kit or go to the parts tore and just get a remanufactured axle the are cheap now

you must take apart the cvs=constant velocity shaft,or just leave it be,but check the grease constantly under the boot, the boot is there to keep the part lubed,a new shaft will cost about 70 dollars.
