The gage in the dash that shows the battery charging is my problem, When I start the truck the gaug goes over 1/2 way.
In about 10 seconds it goes back over to the left all the way. It starts fine everytime. At night the lights dont go dim at all. And of course when this happens I get the Check gauges light.
Any thoughts

Justin C is correct, have the charging system checked to be sure the alternator is charging the battery. A good battery will last a while before it suddenly goes dead. It sounds like the alternator is not doing the job, a check will tell you if that is the case. Had to replace the alternator on a Explorer twice in one year, symptoms were similar.

you more than likely have a gage going out on it,if it was actually discharging it would run the battery down especially with the lights on,you,ll probably have to replace the gage, but check to make sure,if you have a real good battery in it ,you could actually be running more off battery power than the alternator its self, and it may eventually run the battery down,it may be the alternator putting out low voltage setting the light to come on,it might pay to have it checked, this may be an early warning, when the parts stores open back up they will check the battery and the alternator for free, good luck and merry x-mas.
