I have this 3.3L Grand Caravan, and it came to me with a tick in the engine, and no oil pressure. The previous owner had taken the oil pan off to put a new gasket on, and after that, he said it didn't appear to be oiling itself. So, I took it apart, got down to the oil pump (timing chain off, all that stuff) and tried priming the pump with grease. I put it back together, and it still ticks and has no oil pressure. Anyone who has some experience; if you've ever had to prime the oil pump, could you give me some advice about how to do it properly? If that doesn't cure the problem, what I might look at next?

Many thanks in advance

I have an R Reg Ford Fiesta ghia. Lovely car, but I have to firmly press my brakes before the brake lights come on? Any suggestions why they dont come on as soon as the pedal is pressed?? It passed an MOT only 1 month ago so would not think the pads/discs need replacing?

I have a 1974 Honda CB750, I want to shorten the front forks for a lower stance. Any ideas? Nothing too drastic. I don't want the bike to bottom out and slam the bike onto the front tire. Or even a company that sells short forks.

I have 93 Toyota T100 truck, 4x4, and I noticed there was gas leaking from underneath the bottom right side of the truck , underneath the area where you put the gas into the truck.

I was told by a mechanic that it was easy to replace this hose as it would just involve gas coming out , but it was simply unclamping the old hose and reclamping the new one in there.

But I took it to a Toyota dealer and they are now telling me that I need all 4 gas lines replaced as they are all damaged and are leaking??

Does this sound right?

I havent noticed anything dripping onto my driveway other than this one area where I noticed before. And was expecting to pay no more than $100 . Now I have been told it will be 3 hours labor because they have to remove the gas tank to get the lines in and out. And the total bill will be now around $400 with tax, labor and everything!!

What would you do?

I was thinking about maybe just telling them to replace the one rubber hose I saw leakin

Mine has been damaged several times. No dents, but sratches and bad chips that required touch up paint.

I can't locate a local dealer who sells batteries for a 1993 volvo 850. One store does carry them for the 1994 volvo 850. Will the 1994 battery work in my 1993 model?

The only number on my old 1993 battery that I noted was 58r-60.

I knew one was leaking , but they just phoned and told me that all 4 of them are cracked and leaking.

And they told me that it would be 3 hours labor to replace them, since they will have to take the gas tank out to do this.

Does this sound right?

I had my truck in there for replacing a head gasket recall, but now I am going to have to be paying over 400$ now for this!!

OK, im really not a dumb girl but this car thing is really stumping me. My care squeaks, like the belt needs lube. My coolant light is on, my car isnt over heating, but when i sit with the car running for a little while, it starts to smoke a little, (sweet smell) like theres a little leak somewhere. i cant figure out where its coming from. i just got this new engine in my car (Ford 1995 escort) earlier this year but im so confused. i dont want to leave it unlooked at, but its so expensive to take it to the shop. HELP! what could it be?

I want more power out of my engine. I am getting flowmaster exhaust and it is a stick shift. I would just like some ideas that could pump out more power from the 6 cylinder until I get a V-8. Could I get a turbocharger or just any ideas on how I could make it bettter.

Car quit at stoplight-- wouldn't restart- towed to repair place-ran diagnostic- fire into distributor, no fire out- replaced distributor with rebuilt--car ran OK but somewhat sluggish.
next day-- car started fine-- ran warm like fan might not work --no turnsignals-cannot shut offengine with key--back to repair place-- run another diagnostic, cannot find problem.

Thinking problem in ignition switch or steering column- wondering if there ever was distributor problem...
