The brake peddle has the brake light switch separate from the function of the brakes. If you look under the dash board at the brake peddle you will see that there is a small plastic thing with a couple of wires coming out the back of. This is the brake switch. The brake switch can be adjusted forwards or backwards towards or away from the brake peddle. Adjust it so that the brake lights come on as the peddle is pressed.

Its nothing to do with pads or disks-the brake lights are purely activated by a switch on the brake pedal-it just needs tweeking to get it to activate earlier when the pedal is pressed down.if it passed the MOT then no action on your part is really needed.

I don't think the pads do, but whilst I am no expert I would suggest that there is a switch activated by your brake pedal and that needs replacing or adjusting

if the brakes work fine. then check the brake light switch.
found under the brake pedal. the action of pressing down on the pedal pushed the switch that turns on the light.
Adjust or replace the switch.
easy.

Sounds a bit like your brake light electricity reservoir is running low. You can purchase liquid top up electricity fluid from most auto spares and accessories shops.
If it happens again once you've topped the level up, it probably needs to be looked at by a mechanic as there might be a leak in your 12v light circuit.

On Some cars the switch is down by the pedals - a bit difficult to get to, but possible. I'd have a look to see if the bracket it is on is bent, or if it has come loose, or the switch is worn. If it is coming on, but just a bit late, then it should be relatively straightforward to fix by some with with DIY skills.
Obviously, if that doesn't work, it's off to the garage.

Hi this does not have anything to do with the pads or discs, your brake light switch is out of adjustment.

Not to sure on the car you are talking about but generally speaking the brake light shouldn't come on and if it is you need to get your brakes checked as soon as possible before you have an accident

undernearth where the pedal is theres a switch mounted with the wires at the top. there should be a large plastic nut, screw this up and that should allow your lights to come on earlier, down and the opposite will happen.
if nothing happens when you adjust, you will have to replace the switch.
