I have a 1974 Honda CB750, I want to shorten the front forks for a lower stance. Any ideas? Nothing too drastic. I don't want the bike to bottom out and slam the bike onto the front tire. Or even a company that sells short forks.

You can use shorter springs. However, doing anything to a front end will cause changes in the bikes center of gravity and may affect the breaking performance of the bike. It may also be down right dangerous. Be careful.

Boy got it right.

You dont want to shorten the fork per say, it will cost you more then the bike is worth, but just drop them down an inch or so.

To be honest, that bike handles like a dog on a rusty wire anyway. Doing this will not make it handle better.

Loosen the bolts on the triple clamps that secure the fork tubes and slide the tubes up. That should get you an inch or so.
