My battery was not charging so I had the alternator replaced 6 months ago with a 'rebuilt' one. It was fine for 3-4 months. Then the battery light came on again, tester showed 10.5 V and the starter was very low. I got a new battery. The shop wanted to sell me a starter, but I did not believe that I needed one.
Two months later, my battery light came on- stayed on- but the car restarted fine. The tester checked it for 12.5 V, it was low.
I only drove about 15-20 miles. The shop refused to warrant the battery, because I did not want to replace the starter.

1. Should I check out the alternator again for problems
2. Do I need a starter?

I have 2003 Hyundai Sonata, a great car besides this problem.
Thanks, in advance!

When you put the car in reverse there is approx 8 - 10 second delay prior to the transmission engaging reverse. This is on the automatic Santa Fe 2006 model.

Question is for Tucson owners or those who know ... is there ample room for a REAR FACING child seat behind the passenger seat? We are considering this vehicle and my Wife is quite tall. We're wondering if the front seat has to be in it's most forward position to accomodate the rear facing seat.

Thanks!

please only answer if pretty sure. the dealers tell me 2009 at earliest, but i dont believe them. concept car versions have been shown in motoring media for well over a year, and i understand the actual rel road going version was on show at New York motor show earlier this year, i have seen pictures of both an orange and black 2 tone concept and the real thing in silver on Top Gear tv. i understand its rear wheel drive and the top 2 engine derivatives are a turbo and also a v8 in lieu of my present v6 and that 300bhp! is being talked about!!!!!! bring it on! but when, i dont want to buy a new series3 in the new year only to be superceded by the replacement! that would appear in the dictionary as "depreciation" !!!

I am looking to get all 4 tires replaced. Any suggestions on style/brand/estimated good prices? I am looking for all weather or at least all season since I live in MA and we get quite the range of fun weather. The quote I currently have for 4 tires (mounted/balanced, etc) is $284.77 for 40K tires. Any tips/suggestions? Thanks!

I've had this car for not quite 2 months and I hear all sorts of noises when I apply the brakes. Today, it was a loud whistle when I was backing out of the garage. Other times it's a grating metalic noise. The dealership has replaced the rotors and struts, then told me the car was safe, they never hear the noises I do. They tell me that I just needed to drive it and let the car get seated. Am I being fed a line?

Does a automatic car starter void any part of the Hyundai warranty? I would have it installed a reputable place of course.

So far as I can tell, the Hyundai Getz Fun is supposed to be an "amazing" car. It's supposed to have excellent acceleration, gas mileage, etc. etc. Yet the one person I know who owns the previous model was very P.O.'d at how much the manufacturer lied about the numbers, and all the reviews of the new version of the car say that there's nothing new under the sun.

So, anyone who owns a new Getz Fun: does it really get 15 km a litre? Or are they lying all over again?

I drive a 2005 Hyundai Tucson. Lately, when I step on the gas, it chugs a bit, almost as if it isn't getting enough gas even though there's plenty of gas in the tank. It doesn't happen all the time but it's frequent enough to make me concerned. It started happening about a week ago when the weather got cold and we got a lot of snow. Am I not warming it up long enough or is there a more serious problem? It doesn't have a lot of mileage on it and I don't drive like crazy. Can anyone tell me what's going on with it?
