Are the companies from the same larger supervisor (ex., Chevy and GMC are both from General Motors; Lincoln and Mercury are both from Ford Motor Company, etc.)? Are they related or seperate and are they American or foreign?

The car is used mainly for short trips although a few longer trips have been made. Should the oil be this dirty with 3000 mi.? Does the factory install a break-in oil or do I have a problem?

I am looking at purchasing a used white 2002 hyundai accent GL, a 4 door sedan. I'm not sure whether its manual or automatic. It is only $2995 and it has 40,531 miles on it. How reliable and safe is this car? I'm 16 and it would be my first car but my parents won't let me get a car that I will have to fix up often and is not safe. My mom is insisting that hyundais are not good cars but she does not know much about them. Any personal experience advice or any information would be helpful.

Thanks!

I know the TIburon will be changed to Coupe/Tuscani. But I dont know if that happens in 2008 or 2009. I'm wondering if it will be possible to find a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon.

My mom is planning to buy the car during the DUH sale.
She either wants the Tuscon or the Santa Fe.

I know the Tuscon has a 4 cylinder engine which is what she wants.
What kind of engine does the Santa Fe have?
I saw that it's V6 what does that mean?

Thanks

I've heard that Hyundai used to make very cheap and unreliable cars, but i've also heard that the cars have been getting better recently. I'm looking at getting a 2000-2002 Hyundai Accent and i guess my question is if Hyundai started getting their act together before 2000... or should i look at something else? (Basically, when did Hyundai cars start to be okay? Or are they okay?)

2002 Hyundai Santa Fe was running fine, parked it in the garage, and left an interior light on. The battery ran down. Recharged the battery with an electric charger. Interior and exterior lights, windows, radio, etc., work fine. "Check Engine" light is on. Starter cranks, but engine won't start. Gas tank is full and fluid levels are OK. 31,000 miles on odometer. What's wrong? p.s.: I made the last payment and received the car title in the mail from the bank 2 days ago.

Hi, I am wondering if $8,750 a good price for a 2004 Hundai Elantra. I would be buying it from a dealership. It has 34,000 miles, VERY minor scrapes (2 or 3), power everything (windows, seats, steering, etc....), airbags, 3 year full warrenty. How does that sound? thanks so much! -Nick
........ and by the way, I know you can look up the prices on sites like kellys blue book and tons of other ones like that, but i want opinions. (on kbb.com it said it should be around 10-11 thousand)

Can someone please tell me if Hyundai cars are good cars for first time drivers? I am planning to trade in our 2004 Nissan Sentra for a 2006 Hyundai. And also if someone drives one can you tell me why this car is cheap? I know they are Korean made but I have heard people say that Korean made cars are not the good.

I feel that Hyundai should transfer their lower end cars solely to Kia (maybe anything below the Sonata - in turn wiping out the Optima and Amanti) and focus themselves at going for the big ones - such as Lexus (they've already made progress with the Veracruz). Then, Hyundai will build up the image of premium cars, and that will be reflected in their lineup, while Kia provides people with the everyday cars. (Hyundai ought to redesign their logo too - the flying H is too associated with cheap, unreliable cars.) Anyone else agree with me?

We have just bought a 2006 Hyundai with only 15,000 miles on it.
I want to know the real truth on what coverage is transfering to us.
Will the 10/100k powertrain transfer? Or does that get reduced? And, is there a fee involved in transferring this over to us.
Also, do we need to contact Hyundai and inform them that we are new owners of this vehicle?
Thanks.
