If you want a factory quality paint job you are looking at $1500 minimum and upto $2500 for a special color depending on the shop. The car has to be sanded down, taped up, primed and then given multiple coats of paint prior to a clear coat. So, its probably not worth putting a $2000 paint job on a car only worth $2000, but that's up to you of course.
