We have just bought a 2006 Hyundai with only 15,000 miles on it.
I want to know the real truth on what coverage is transfering to us.
Will the 10/100k powertrain transfer? Or does that get reduced? And, is there a fee involved in transferring this over to us.
Also, do we need to contact Hyundai and inform them that we are new owners of this vehicle?
Thanks.

Yes, you need to contact Hyundai to inform them that you are the new owner of the car, sometimes the owners manual will have a transfer card in it that you can mail in. You get the full 5 yr 60K mile warranty and the powertrain gets reduced to 5/60K. There's no fee from Hyundai to transfer a car warranty.
Good luck and enjoy your newused car!
