Can someone please tell me if Hyundai cars are good cars for first time drivers? I am planning to trade in our 2004 Nissan Sentra for a 2006 Hyundai. And also if someone drives one can you tell me why this car is cheap? I know they are Korean made but I have heard people say that Korean made cars are not the good.

Yes, Hyundai cars are good for 1st time drivers, though an older car like your 2004 Sentra is even better since the car is already paid for, lower insurance and a quality car. Hyundai cars are cheaper then most other brands because the cost of labor in Korea isn't as expensive as in Europe (the highest rate and car prices) and is a bit less then US or Japan.
However there's absolutely nothing cheap about the design, quality or style of the Hyundai cars. Hyundai is one of the safest brands on the market with all the key safety features available (ABS, multiple airbags, traction control, ESC, impact headrests, etc.).
I bought a 2006 Hyundai Azera and love it, what model are you looking at that would make you want to give up your relatively new Sentra?
Any more info needed on the quality and reputation of the latest models please go direct to the Hyundai website for all the latest!

I have a hyundai it is a 2001 tiburon and what i have find is good about it is that it is excellent on gas because it is all made out of fiber glass but that makes the car less safe but why some people might bad talk korean cars is because they are important and expensive to fix and unusual to autobody and mechanics and insurance will cost more money because if anything needs to be replaced they will have to ship it in from korea something that is great in all hyundai though is the stereo and if it is a teen driver that might be an important factor i still have my stock speakers in my car and they work better than some of my friends who have spent lots of money on theres i love talking about my car so if you have any questions don't hesitate to email or ask me .... rayleenfischer577@msn.com

no kidding!! I do'nt know why they still think hyundai as 93 cars... or maybe they just do'nt know about car makes... Haven't you noticed that Hyundai is the most safest company that you can find? their first minivan recieved for the 1st that that has safest ratings ever!! and so as the other model, and their quality is #3 , last time i checked from J.,d. power and now, they can actually compete with other makers like toyota, BMw , MErcedez, /Lexus, The new 08 Hyundai Geneis, in the article, it says that the interrior (back seat) is most likely like BMw 7 series. and they have to cost the price down because for them, that car is like promotion to the next level of hyundai so they ccan't make the vehicle as expensive yet, but when ppl realized how good hyunai is, their car might get expensive. and well yah and new veracruzz beat Lexus RX ANd the Veracruzz from koreaa, their competetion is with Rx, Audi (the SUv) and acura, so basically the car from korea is more advanced than here or other places, they just can't afford to make one to the other countries, but i think thyey'll in the future~ well good luck~

The newest ones are the best for first time drivers.

Don't worry Hyundai's build quality has improved alot since 1996.

As I know Hyundai is killing Mitsubishi

I not too sure why Hyundai's are less expensive then other cars. I thought I read somewhere that the labor rates are lower in S.Korea plus they pressure their suppliers alot to keep cost down.
I have an 01' Elantra and it still runs great with 120,000 miles on it so the real question to me is why are other cars so expensive ?

my daughter's first car was a 02 hyundai elantra. she totaled it,driving too fast and failed to negotiate a sharp turn. she hit a large tree head-on. she had no injuries-wore her seat belt. she now has an 04 elantra which she is very lazy on maintenance but it has over 70,000 miles on it.-no problems. I own an 05 elantra with 62,000 miles-excellant car-recommend it. i owned an 05 honda civic-alot of problems-sold it-good resale-one good thing .if you notice Hyundai has alot of other things beside the car-

Well, they're the 3rd best company in Initial Quality, and have the best warranty coverage with Roadside Assistance. Why Korean cars are not that good, is that they're not very popular. Nissans are more popular than Hyundais. I don't know which one's the best. But I heard on a 4 car comparison on Motor Trend: Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra, Mitsu Lancer, and Hyun Elantra (they're all 2007 except Lancer is a 2008 just in case you know) And the Hyundai Elantra was at last place while the Lancer was 3rd, Nissan Sentra was 2nd, and Honda Civic was at 1st place. So, buy the 2007 Sentra, they're best for carpoolers, and ride quality.
