So far as I can tell, the Hyundai Getz Fun is supposed to be an "amazing" car. It's supposed to have excellent acceleration, gas mileage, etc. etc. Yet the one person I know who owns the previous model was very P.O.'d at how much the manufacturer lied about the numbers, and all the reviews of the new version of the car say that there's nothing new under the sun.

So, anyone who owns a new Getz Fun: does it really get 15 km a litre? Or are they lying all over again?

Never in the history of automobiles has there been a vehicle that's as good as the manufacturer claims, or rather as good as the manufacturer's advertising execs claim ... nor a dishwashing liquid, a computer, or fast food... it's just the nature of advertising. Your best bet is to continue your search for other owners... if you can't find any, there's probably a good reason! I'm ashamed to admit I owned a Hyundai once ... I'd never own another.

There is proof that the Hyundai Getz is one of the cheapest cars to own and run. I know people who owned them and they think its the best car they ever had and yes they really get 15 km a litre. All the new Hyundai's are very good and the car manufacturer Hyundai can prove that their cars are very reliable.

The manufacturer cannot make an untrue claim.
However, the fuel consumption claims are based on the official consumption according to the government test cycle required in the market in which it is sold, and this is a lab-test, not a real-world test. Most cars will not match the claims in the real world, but this is a problem that governments (or the EU for European markets), not manufacturers, would need to solve as they set the test cycles.
The official consumption figures allow you to compare the fuel consumption of different cars, but cannot be used as a guide to what the car will achieve in real-world conditions.

Neil knows what he is talking about.
The gas mileage stated is a guide to compare against other cars.
Hyundais are good cars and unfortunately still have a bad name from the early days when Hyundais werent so good!
It will be a long long time before they shake the bad name but there are ppl out there who love their Hyundai!!

It's a small, cheap, slightly nasty little Korean hatch with little resale value and absolutely no kudos whatsoever.
You can do so much better for the money.
