The drive train is the engine,transmission and driving axle(s). This can include on some vehicles with 4 wheel or all wheel drive a extra set of axles and a differential unit. This stuff is all connected to the drive shaft.

It's the system that transfers power from the engine to the wheels. Typically the clutch (or torque converter in an automatic transmission vehicle), then the gearbox, then the propeller shaft, differential gear on the back axle of a rear wheel drive vehicle. On a front wheel drive vehicle, after the gearbox it's the constant velocity joints and stub axles. It's often referred to as the transmission system.

the drive train is how your car drives itself..... For example with the rear wheels or fron wheels or four wheel drive. In common car erms the will include the engine aswell for example " the drivetrain is FR " This means front engine rear wheel drive. " Mr" mid engine rear wheel drive. Its just specifying which wheels move the car along and which are just rolling
