ok, i am liking the gas mileage on motocycles. i like the crotch rocket look. but i would rather start out with something slow and stable. but with the same bodystyle. i will have about 1000 dollars to spnd, i wanna get something some one has probly dropped a few times, but it still runs ok, you know? i dont need anything pretty. cause i will probbly drop it never rode a bike b4. but i like the simplicity of the motor and the gas mileage. i dont want a moped... doesanyone have any idea what insurance will do? i will have liability. will it go up or down? anyone know? im a car guru, but motorcycles to me are something new

i have a nissan 240sx, it is running hot. the problem progressed. it ran hot once just idling in a parkinglot. than maybe a month down the road it would over heat and then run fine, and over heat later. and now it overheats immediately. i havent seen any oil in the water or water in the oil i have replaced the thermostat, no fix. and i strait wired the fan to the battery. and it helped but not much. do you think this is a cracked head or maybe a water pump or clogged radiator? or what. my brother says cracked head. and it was vapor locking, so i would pour water over the throtle body on it, and then it would crank for me. so it is posible i cracked the head maybe. but it runs like it has been, just hot. it has an aluminum intakeand throttle body. so.... any suggestions?

Do I still have to pay for routine maintenance, major repairs, etc., as if I own the car? Thanks.

Plan to keep it for at least 5 yrs. Would a late 90s car be too old usually? Would 100K+ miles be too much? How many miles do cars usually run b4 breakdown anyway?

I hit a dock, messed up the front hull pretty bad. I did pierce the inner hull where the gas tank and engine are however not near as bad! The repair guy said that it would be over 4000 in repair! Doesnt that seem a bit high?

i'm learning manual at the moment, and i was wondering, if i'm slowing down at a round-about or give way sign, do i have to press on the clutch or brakes first?

and if a car does come past and i have to stop, what do i do.

the exact procedure would be good so i won't be confused or unsure about anything.

The knob you use to change how the air comes out broke off and the metal piece under it will not turn. It's stuck on defrost. Can I use pliers to turn it until it gets into the mechanic?

My s10 with a 2.5 is knocking and I believe its just a wrist pin knock but it could possible be a bearing knock, the thing is when you hit the gas pedal it almost goes away and you really only hear it when the engine is at idle.

I heard somewhere that replacing my stock radiator cap (16lbs) with a lower one (7-8lbs?) would relieve pressure from my hoses and be less stress on my cooling system.

I'm not EXACTLY sure what a radiator cap does as far as pressure ratings go, so I wouldn't have a clue.

Well, pilots, what have you seen spoken by actors in aviation movies that made you want to stand up and scream/laugh etc.
Or, even better, the comment was so far off from what they SHOULD have said, that you wanted to visit the writers and beat them about the cranial area, continuously, until they promised never to write for an aviation film again

What can I use to clean the car dashboard without using certain chemicals that will damage the dashboard material either on the short term or long term damage. Windex, won't that damage the vinyl dash? Or is the dash even made of vinyl anymore for most new cars these days?

i know theres ways to calculate the current draw of an amplifier...
but is there any way to literaly measure the live current draw of a sound system....

example:::
i can take the wattage of an amp, and multiply it by e=mc2(squared) to the root of the radius of the world..and it will equal 200 amps.

but even though the math will add up to something, i doubt it really is that in the car...
because there are things that could lower the actual power of the amp....
like not having correct gauge wire, not upgrading alternator, battery wires, battery, etc.....

so i wanted to know if there is an actual way i can measure the current draw, like if can use a multimeter????
i dont want to fry my multimeter though so i wanna know if it can be done first....

I have a 1991 Chevy Corsica 3.1L V6. 186,000 on odometer. exactly a week ago, a tacking sound started and is coming from the head. Either i think it's a valve lifter problem, a spring in the valve lifter, or a rocker arm may have loosened up. I don't think this car was run before i got it for a little while...what could be wrong based on the information i gave you and your experience?
