i drive a 2002 mazda tribute dx. i want to bring it in but be somewhat informed of what can be expected so i am not taken advantage of by a mechanic. thanks in advanced.

have it scanned ,auto zone or advance either one can scan it for you before you take it to a mechanic,and if its a sensor at least you,ll know ,most mechanics aren't out to take advantage of people but they are getting a bad reputation ,this way if you have it scanned at least you might have a good idea of whats causing this,good luck on it.

Many auto parts stores wil read codes for free. That is the first step. Then you report back with the P0455 code or what ever and ask again with mor information like How many miles are on that SUV and what happened or what was worked on recently. Might be a crank sensor or some other problem. Your car is essentially a Escape by Ford...

hard to tell without seeing.. Autozone or a parts store will usually scan the computer for free. It should give you some info on what could be or is wrong
