Stuck Air Distribution Knob?

The knob you use to change how the air comes out broke off and the metal piece under it will not turn. It's stuck on defrost. Can I use pliers to turn it until it gets into the mechanic?

Really. What have you got to lose? Nobody knows the answer to this question. If you break it, then the answer was no.

If you have enough of the stem left to grab onto, then go for it. It's broke anyway.
