Does anyone out there have a 2006 or 2007 Sierra 2500 HD 2WD w/ the 8.1L V8 and Allison Transmission? If so, what kind of gas mileage are you getting? I know the Allison transmission went from a 5 speed in 2006 to a 6 speed in 2007. Did it make a difference in fuel economy? I don't want the Duramax because it is such an expensive option. It puts my new truck budget over it's limit, but I can slip just under budget w/ the 8.1L V8. Educated opinions will be appreciated. Thx.

1.Left hand dual climate control does not operate
2.Rear tailgate will not unlock -just squeels
3.Heated seats do not work
4.I need new shockers and tyres -any suggestions for best town ride,handling
5.Should I just trade it in?

When he hits the gas it sounds like there is a weird clunking noise coming from underneath the car......

Also, when he hits the gas it sounds like there is a dragging noise coming from the front right of the car.......

Any tips, hints as to what the problems could be?

I have a 1988 corvette that is hard to start when the engine is hot. When it does start, you can smell gas. Most of the time when it does start it cuts off and I have to continue to restart it.

My friend wanted to buy a set of rims from me but didn't have all the money at once. So I told him he could give me a down payment to take the rims and then make payments every month. So he gave me $250 down and took the rims, I haven't seen a dime since. When I ask him about it he just says that he should have something for me soon. He currently owes me $1050 and doesn't seem to think it is that big of a deal. I can't afford to get in any legal trouble over this, what do I do?

Why is it that Cal-Trans builds a perfectly good road and then several weeks later they dig up a 1foot strip down the side of it. Then fill it back in, and within a month there is a huge grove where the semi- trucks drive. Can anyone tell me why they do this please.

i bought an old very used car. i dont have much money and the thing is in need of a tuneup. well it gets 12 mpg. no thermostat, smog pump was froze. etc. well im going for the pump next, but why the heck were the plug wires rearranged? it seems that when you viewed the cap (i should pay attention), all but 2 of the wires were going to left side of cap left of block, right of cap right of block. now, i rearranged the wires when i got the thing, and have had them off to clean oil from them, but why didnt i notice this? and second, when i was transfering the wires to the cap, i started at #1 and went counterclockwise. well when i got half way around, i pulled the next wire loose to move it. when i looked back at the old cap for the next 1, it seems i skipped 1. so, i moved the 2 wires in question,turned out there were 4 wires wrong. ive done this atleast 100 times,hmmm and does it = poor mileage.no backfires etc, just more power now.
btw, verified fire order months ago, how did it happen

In response to a recent post regarding car wax...someone wrote that place like AutoZone and Advance are not true specialty stores with a knowledgeable staff. So now I'm curious--what are some good places to go to for advice? for good prices? On things like waxes and tire shines etc.

My mother was told by my neighbours she could not park in front of there drive on the other side of the road. they have a drive and a white line painted outside she did not park in front of thier drive on thier side but on the opposite side in front of my house on the other side of the road. My neibours told her to move it cos it was illegal or they would smash it with a hammer. Is this right

on my 2000 chevy express the side doors the front side door (1st one you open) works fine the rear side door(2nd one you open) hinges get sticky and door is hard to open looking for a permanent solution

My keyless entry doesn't work to unlock the vehicle. Once I insert the key it works fines. When I get out it works and locks the doors, but by time I go to get back in it doesn't work again. I'm taking it to the shop, but I don't see how they can help since when I drop it off it will work. Any ideas of the problem???
