I know what your thinkin."Don't be cheap, just have the old rotors turned it dont cost much".Yes i kinow this.Anyway does it really hurt anything to put new pads over the old rotors even if the rotors havent been turned. The rotors do NOT have any large grooves in them. They are still smooth.I just dont want to have to get back into tearing this truck down again because taking the old rotors off an 87 GMC v-1500 4x4 takes a special socket i do not have and i dont want to have to put new bearing seals in it too.Plus i dont have that much time.Just let me know what you think about using the old rotors without turing them and just using new brake pads.Thanks.

What would cause that? The vehicle is 4 years old. One of my other cars did this too, but it was a lot older, had a lot of miles on it. This one has about 46,000 miles. Thanks! Also, when you apply breaks there is often times a light squeeling noise now.

It is a 1.8i engine.I have changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires and distributor cap but now the car won't start. When we try it sounds like it is going to and then it sounds like it is releasing air. Some people have said that my firing order is off and that I should turn around the distributor cap. But I am afraid that I have the plugs on in the incorrect order.

The roads here are appalling and through no fault of my own I have had to replace a tyre due to the casing being damaged driving along the road to hell. Has anyone written to their Councils and got a refund for tyres that have damaged and needed replacement?

I took my 2002 taurus in because my alternator light was on...the first place Itook it to,the guy hooked it up to amachineand when he was done looking at it toldme I needed a new alternator.....The next day,I took my car to a different place and the guy hooked it up to thesame machine(a little newer)andwhen he was done told me there was nothing wrong with my alternator or battery and that I must have an eletrical problem inside the car because my alternator light is coming on for no reason........Do I need to get one more mechanics opinion,or just leave the car alone?............................By the way,I've had no problems and heard no noises out of the car...The light just started coming on a few days ago......................What to do?

I am 21, live in Bromley, Kent (Greater London), have a full drivers licence (with Pass Plus), have passed my CBT and am doing my DAC in the next couple of weeks. I'm looking to get a 500-600cc Honda (CBR preferably but insurance so I'm told is high so probs a Hornet).

Couple of questions...

What motorbike helmet do you reccomend? The two shopkeepers I've spoken too have said top of the range Shoei are the best for safety but £500 seems a lot of money to spend. I want to be safe and of course would be prepared to spend that money but I dont want to spend £500 on a helmet that is no better then a £200 one.

Could someone also shed some light on what I'd expect to pay for insurance. I understand there are many issues involved when it comes to insurance but I'm just looking for a rough estimate. Maybe someone who is / has been in the same position?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Leave for a few minutes with ignition off then restarts and runs O.K. for another mile or so. Leave for 30 minutes with ignition off and then runs for about 4 miles again.
Have had most of the fuel system replaced plus new rotor arm, distributor head etc. Two different garages have given up saying they don't know what the problem is.
CAN ANYONE GIVE HELPFUL ADVICE PLEASE.
