I just recently had an oil change, like a little over a month ago. Two weeks ago I went to start my car and heard all of this loud "knocking" noise. I checked my oil and there as hardly any in there. I have not had an oil leak . I can tell this because I park in the same parking spot at home and work, neither spots have oil stains in them. I do not believe it is burning up in my engine because I have had a car that did this and I know that you almost always can smell it when it is burning. I believe that they did not refill my oil level when doing the oil change at their station. I called them and they were extremely rude to me and suggested I just "through a quart in there" and drive it a half hour away so they can check it. Luckily, I got advice from a friend not to take it anywhere without putting the required amount of oil in it first. But now the engine does not run like it used to. Is there anything I can do about this? Shouldn't the garage I took it to be responsible?

About two weeks ago, I had a master cylinder replaced on my 1991 Dodge Ram (stick shift). Since then, our brakes have needed to be pumped and sometimes the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. Today, my husband was driving down a hill and braked. The brakes went out and he went into a ditch. The brakes are not working at the level they were before the new master cylinder was put on. In fact, the brakes were fine before. Any ideas on what is going on? Is the mechanic responsible for the problem and its eventual repair?

Simply put I was complaining about road ragers and inconsiderate people who without turn signals cut you off. Yet I get blasted and label a road rager.

I have a 2001 Ford Escape V6 3.0L. When it is cold started, it wants to stall but when it is warmed up for a while it is fine. I already changed the EGR valve and the DPFE sensor and no luck. Changed the spark plugs and the oil the other day and now the engine light came on with 3 codes, P0171, P0174 and P0304. I was wondering which I should change next, the Idle Air Control (valve)Unit, or the Mass Air Flow Sensor??

I totaled my car this morning and the tow truck driver said a junkyard would probably still give me good money for it. Is this true, or am I better of just giving it to a car donation center and getting it out of my driveway? It's an 85 BMW 325e and I live in the Bay Area. If the tow to a junkyard is going to be more than what I can get for it, I'd rather just donate it but thought I'd look into what I can do to get something out of it.

Thanks!

I own a 2000 Dodge neon. Its a basic one, meaning it has no power windows, locks, ect..It is paid off and i plan in selling it in the spring. I live in the midwest and the winters are brutal. i was thinking about adding a car starter with keyless entry. thought it would be a nice feature to have for the winter. Is it even possible to do a keyless entry on a car that has no power locks? and can i install it or should a pro go at it?

Lost title to end dump trailer that I bought. It is still in the old owners name. I have no VIN number or plate numbers and I need to register the trailer. How can I find out what the VIN number is if it is not on the trailer and the old owner has no paperwork to get a new title.

Just last week I noticed my levels 1 and 2 don't work with my a/c and heat in my 2002 Honda Accord. Levels 3 and 4 work fine. If I have the a/c on level 1 or 2, the a/c indicator light does come on. So I know I have power to it. But no air comes out of the vent unless I but the level to 3 or 4. I have a knob that selects my levels, not buttons. Would it be a bad relay? Bad fan switch? Bad knob? I would really appreciate if anyone had any ideas. Thanks a lot!

For example....im watching Motorweek and when they talk about new model year vehicles.....some improvements include a stronger or stiffer chassis from the previous year.....how is that possible.....the improvements are always 30% stiffer or strong, 60% stiffer or stronger and its usually with trucks......and I ask myself, ....... "Self .... stronger or stiffer compared to what?????? last year???"........At this rate .......these frames or chassis should be indestructible by now........, is there some new metal being used that wasnt used before? how can there be that much of an improvement over the year before.....what were we driving before ....cars and trucks made of cardboard......please .....educate me?

Is it me, (living near a road), or are there more and more cars with mega loud exhausts on the road? And they are usually heaps of junk so why would you want to draw attention to it? Isn't there a law on the db allowed and is it enforced at all?

I recently purchased a 2007 Honda Shadow Aero 750 and also purchased an extended warranty for $750.00. By the time I pay off the loan, the extended warranty will end up costing me about $1300.00. I read the pamphlet on the warranty and it appears to me that they exclude just about everything.
Honda motorcycle owners, is the extended warranty worth it or should I get out now while I still can?
