DO NOT USE rubbing compound <--- GO TO THE LOCAL PART STORE and ask for overspray clay it will remove the paint wioth out cutting into the clear coat like rubbing compound..

Have you tried running it thru a car wash first?
My van had the same problem, ran it thru the car wash and the problems washed off

rubbing compound, but that's a lot of work...i would was my car with either "bar keeps friend" or 'bon-ami"....
