Hey Bizman! I don't claim to know every thing, but here is what I think. I believe the element (the tip of the lighter itself) is burned out, just unscrew it and take it into any parts store, and they will sell you a new one. Or if you don't want to unscrew it your self, then take the whole lighter in the store, and let them do it. Hope this helps you.

P.S. Want to know how I knew this? because it just recently happened to me.

Hugs

If you're saying that the removeable part of the cigarette lighter is not heating up, try using a different one if you haven't already. I had that problem and I took one from another car of the same make/model and it worked fine. No clue why it happened but it was fine after that. Strange that it's occuring in both cars.

It could be as simple as the heating element wore out. Thats the part u push in, they are about $5.00. Try it and what happens.
