Not sure if this is something I can fix, I would be satisifed with disabling the darn thing, we lock the van and the alarm sets, anywhere from 10 min to 10 hrs later the alarm goes off?
Any help would be appreciated

I have a 1999 Grand Prix Gt and when I first start it in the morning it will start right up and idle just fine for about 5 minutes and then it will kill on me. If I even try to put it in gear it will kill automatically. After it kills, when i try to start it again it will fire and then die immediately unless I give it a ton of gas, and even then it will just putter and blow a lot of black smoke. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I had myself convinced for a long time that my first car would have to be a VW bug, however now that I'm in a more hilly area where the roads get iced over in the winter, I am second guessing that.

I guess an suv or something with 4-wheel drive would be better and safer overall inany accident case.

now I wont have my license for a month or so, but I figured i would get a goal now and save up.

what I would really like in the suv area is something as bit more compact seeing as I am no superstar parker (not a bad driver, just not a good parker ^.^) and something with good mileage..

please and thank you

price range would be good too.

Just had motor put in. when I hook up the wiring harness to the egr valve, it sputters and wants to stall out. Is this a bad egr valve, or something worse, like incompatible computer module?

I have a Volvo S80 2.9 Automatic that is reporting a fault in its gearbox but nobody seems able to identify the code. It hasn't gone into standard safe mode as it allows use of first gear and reverse only. Prior to going wrong it worked perfectly, then just suddenly lost all but first gear. Has anybody encountered a similar problem to this before or know what may cause this problem?

Because I may not be able to fix it and due to nobody being able to supply a 4 speed auto box for the 2.9 if anybody does know where I could locate one in the UK (preferably) I'd love to know. I tried all the websites but most of them respond with a chuckle and a "not even god could locate a used one of those"!!! Any help would certainly be appreciated

The vehicle start to cut out and after taking it to the dealers they still cant get the problem. They put it on the computer but no problem. I even send it to Bosch dealers to check the diesel pump but there was no problems.

The vehicle get a "hicup" when the refs go over 3000 and you did not change it to the next gear it cut out. When you eventually get to the fifth gear and start getting your speed over 100 km per hour it start to "hicup" more till you get over the 120 kph then it travel smoothly again. The moment you start loosing speed again it start doing it all over again.
I would appreciate it if somebody can give me an idea what the problem can be.

Driving up a small road, council workers trimming branches of trees, and headges. They leave tree branches behind in the road, you drive past, large branches go under the car, hear a bang. About 8-10 miles later, you see smoke which appears to be coming from the exhaust. Just get home, car making a wirring noise. Call out RAC, who say's "there is a leak in the gear box". NOT engine oil, as this is too thin. Checked the engine oil levels, OK. Evenutally flat bedded transported to a main dealer garage, Main dealer for Renault, not knowing the extent of the damage, nearly give me a heart attack - they say needs NEW gear box £2500 inclusive. But you WON'T BE ABLE TO CLAIM FROM INSURANCE, AS THE LEAK IS ?? ENGINE OIL ?? AND THE ACCIDENT WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THIS . IT IS A MECHANICAL FAULT - CANNOT CLAIM ON A MECHANICAL FAULT. Why would the garage say this? The car was fine until this incident. The garage is on a list of authorised repair garages for the Insurance Company.

Couple question's, I'd be very grateful. My 91 grand caravan runs fine except for a little gear slipping at stop. Is it possible for the dipstick to come out dry (no fluid at all). Would that be the problem? Also, when you add fluid, do you do it through the dipstick hole or somewhere else???

The seat is a tan leather bucket seat with the slit in the lower side portion of the seat. The cut is not in a portion of the seat that receives lots of wear and tear but I would like the repair to blend in with the seat.
