seal on back latch of van was permitting water to enter van under the carpeting. have had the interior done by Service Master, have air dried and still if the van is not used for awhile the smell returns.

activated charcoal. in other words buy charcoal...natural not with any thing that helps it catch fire or burn faster. spread it open on newspaper on the flat surfaces, floors , seats etc and than close that puppy up tight. the charcoal will absorb all of the musty odor or any other odor. time frame ..have to judge. when it doesn't smell..but shouldn't take but a day or so.

try a couple of different things, sprinkle baking soda in the area and absorb the moisture then shop-vac out. or buy this de-odorizer called "odorcide" works great on removing odors. or last but not least fix problem and replace interior carpeting.

Once dry dose it with frebreeze. If this was over a very extended period, you may have mold spores in the stuffing of the seats that needs to be replaced.
