Not sure if this is something I can fix, I would be satisifed with disabling the darn thing, we lock the van and the alarm sets, anywhere from 10 min to 10 hrs later the alarm goes off?
Any help would be appreciated

I don't know what the other guy seems to think an alarm has to do with throwing a rod, as one is internal engine part and one is external add-on item.

Anyway, does your alarm have a motion sensor?

If so it could be set too sensitive like mine was, and go off when loud trucks, or planes go by.

Mine is mounted to the steering column and looks like a pager. It has a little knob on the side that you adjust up or down like a volume control.

Hope this helps.

Watch out. Mine did that a year before it died for good. It didn't indicate any engine problem but within the year I had thrown a rod without any advance signs of trouble.
