I'm assuming the oil on the dipstick has water in it.

The car has probably been overheated, maybe a while back, but it has either a blown head gasket or a cracked head.

Fords are NOTORIOUS for cracking heads, so I'd include new heads in estimates you get to prepare for the worst.

Ya I'm for the blown head gasket....Ford had issues with head gaskets in the 3 litre 6 from 93 to 96 I still see tons of them up to 2000. They must hve pulled their heads out as I see fewer high milage 3.8's with the head gasket issue.

My shop...it will run you around 800 bucks to repair. if it is a Windstar a little more as I have to dismantle more to get the heads off around 1200.
You gotta get it fixed. remeber one thing is oil in the radiator the other is water running through your lubrication of the engine.
You will ruin the engine..

Most likely a warped cylinder head allowing the gasket to blow. This can happing from letting the engine overheat.
