DH's F150 broke down yesterday. The window got stuck down, so at a red light he turned off the engine and re-started the truck, thinking maybe it would go up once he turned it back on. Well, once he did that, the truck would not go into gear. After blocking traffic for 45 minutes the tow truck showed up and we had it towed to the dealership because it was the only shop open on Saturday. They can't look at it until Monday. Any ideas on what it could be?

I have a new 49cc gas scooter that the needed the front tire assembled. There is a front disc brake that is supposed to clamp around the disk mounted on the front tire. BUT the front break is now clamped completely closed and I can't get it open. Should I try to take the brake apart to get the brake pads open? IS there a simple fix? Should I wait to try to get someone to look at it? I can't take it to a shop because, well, can't drive without brakes. So what do I do?

Someone help me with picking a bike.

I have a full unrestricted licence so any cc is fine.
Having said that so long as it is motorway legal and can do 70 comfortably I am happy.

Right, basically I need something that is reliable and not prone to breakdowns. I won't be doing much mileage (it will be an occasional thing, just for the odd trip really so I'm not bound by buses/trains) but I want to know that after a few weeks of non use it will still start and run fine.
I'm not bothered if it looks nice particularly, so long as it is functional. I had a Virago 535 which looked nice but was a fortune to maintain and was very unrealiable, never again!

Needs to take a pillion in reasonable comfort, and the cheaper the better!

So to recap:
Cheap to run and maintain
Reliable (I'm not expecting miracles or 100% of course)
70mph without becoming dangerous
Reasonable pillion
Needs to cope with low use
Can be ugly :)
Cheap as possible

Anything suggestions?

I own a 1997 Saturn SL, its runs fine, it gets me around town well. but I've gone far away to college, and i want to go home,get my car and bring it down to Alabama. sense it is an old car what are some things I should do to give my car the best chance of making it on the six our drive. What major things should I check or change, how fast should i drive on the interstate, should I take periodioc breaks,? oil use, etc. . .??? thanks
