It depends what you want it for.....
Nothing beats toyota quality, and toyota goes all out on their flagship the lexus, you can expect everything to work after 200k miles, and the car will still look sharp
But if you like the -sucking on lemon-bling bling, grill of a cadilac escalde, nothing else will do.
I think cadilacs are ugly as hell, and they are cheap GM cars, so if you keep it a long time expect peeling paint and power windows that stop going up and down.
Give me a lexus any day.

Cadillac.... American company, reliable, readily available parts when in need of repair, stylish, well engineered engines. These are a few facts that jump out at me when I think of a Cadillac. They are evolving from the gigantic sedan of the 70's and 80's and are starting to develop sleeker sports-car-like autos to compete with Lexus, BMW and Mercedes Benz. One of my personal favorites is the STS with the Northstar V-8, that car simply hauls!!! And it also is exceptionally roomy, and for its size handles extremely well, while offering a pillowy-supple ride for the passenger, without sacrificing too much road feel for the driver. I hope this helps you out some.... Could you add which models of each car you want to compare, or is this a brand comparison?

Even though Cadillac is finally building competitive products, Lexus is a better overall buy in most cases.

I have to agree with Padrote Chingon.....Cadillacs are way to flashy and they scream new money and hip-hop, besides they're gas guzzlings pieces of crap.
Lexus is a Toyota brand and Toyota is better than GM.....though I want an Audi...they're sleeker and way cool

Lexus, hands down. GM's new Caddys are nice to look at, but at 100k miles they quit.
