Couple question's, I'd be very grateful. My 91 grand caravan runs fine except for a little gear slipping at stop. Is it possible for the dipstick to come out dry (no fluid at all). Would that be the problem? Also, when you add fluid, do you do it through the dipstick hole or somewhere else???

yes it is possible for it to come out dry very bad very bad. but you have to check your tranny fluid with the car running. then yes you add fluid through the dipstick. but if you have been running it low you may want to run to a oilchange place and have them service the tranny for you so you can get all fresh fluid. you need to change the fluid every 50,000 or so so might be a good time to do that if you havent.

If you are low on transmission fluid, that would cause the symptoms you describe. Add the correct transmission fluid (+3, NOT DEXTRON!!!!!!!!!!!!) by putting a funnel into the dipstick hole and puring in the fluid.

If you have a 3.3L engine, most likely the front pump seal is leaking. It is a major job to replace, so you should just keep an eye on the fluid level!!
