I paid 300.00 on my card balance at the bank on Tuesday. They told me that the payment would show immediatley, itr didn't. The next day I phoned MC and was told that it sometimes takes 1-3 days for a payment to show. Yesterday it still had not shown up, so I called MC again and they told me to go to the bank where I made the payment and get them to fax them something on the banks letterhead stating the payment had been made and when I get home to call trhem and they would apply the payment right away. I did this, and they told me that everything is fine now. Well, this morning I went online again to check and I found that instead of applying the payment to my balane, they had only raised my limit by 300.00.
I am wondering if this is a commkon problem with MC.

for replacement windows. He doesn't have any debts and his credit card is well up to date. (He showed me his experian report and there are no late payments, ccjs or anything negative at all). He isn't financially linked with anyone else and has checked that there are no outstanding debts on his house.

Anyone got any suggestions why he can't get any credit and what he can do about it?

Hello, I started my credit history in May and I have credit cards that are reporting positive things about my payment history. My current credit score is "0" due to a "thin file" how long does it take to get a credit score? I am using Identity Guard and they are the ones telling me I have a score of "0", is this true? Or may the agencies have scores for me? Thank you for your help.

Yup, just pulled ye olde credit reports and someone got gas, electric and phone service with my social. Of course, these bills were not paid and have been sent to collections.

I'm disputing, of course -- I can prove that I was living in CA during the time these bills were run up in CT -- but man, this is frustrating. I'm sure I'll convince myself that it's better for me to find out now instead of a couple years on down the line, but tonight... Well, my grandma would wash my mouth out with soap if she heard me.

A credit-card company I have a balance with just called me and said there may be fraudulent activity on my card. A few expensive purchases have been made online, which were red-flagged since I had never activated the card.

I have no idea how this person found out my information, besides the credit card company, nobody else knows this information. I have only used this card for a balance transfer, and the card itself stays locked in my house.

I'm not trying to figure out how they got my information, but what steps should I take now to prevent any fraudulent activity on any of my accounts. All it looks like now is they had my name/number/3-digit code on the back.

Thanks!

I have been "approved" for a credit card I applied for, but according to the approval letter, the issuing bank requires a photocopy of all 3 of the above items before my account can be opened. Additionally, a deadline of about 3 weeks is imposed. Is this legitimate? The letter says this is required by federal law. It seems like either a reasonable way to prevent fraudulent accounts, or just a clever scam. The credit card and circumstances of application otherwise seem reputable.
