Can you use a PO Box address when signing up for a credit card?

2006-11-04 05:34:10 · 6 answers · asked by Dr_G 1

now. She states that I have made a huge mistake in my credit future. However, prior to opening the account, we (Adam and I) went to our financial advisor who stated that it would be very good for our future together when buying a home.
Who is mistaken? My mom is just looking out for my best interest (no pun intended) and has shown me several articles proving her point.
What is the best course of action? Should I maintain the account or cancel as instructed by mom?
Thank you for your time and assistance.

My strong point is that I have paid my mortgage and all my bills on time for the past 2.5 years. My weakness is that I have 3 Visa credit cards that total $14,000. One of the cards I got strictly for 0% interest. If I close this card, will the closure increase my score a few points since it would no longer be an open line? And lastly, I have 2 dept store cards w/zero balances.

We are going to re-finance our mortgage in a couple of months and I want to strengthen my credit profile if I can.

On the one hand, adults have to make good decisions for themselves and the credit card company isn't responsible for their customers' spending habits.

On the other hand, credit card companies make it soooo easy to overspend and soooo difficult to pay off a large balance.

What say you?

A friend of mine co-signed for a new car for someone who promised to have their name removed after a few months. It has been 8 months and they have refused to transfer the car lien title into their name only. Is there anything that the co-signer can do to have their name removed.

Have you or someone you know tried "adding age credit lines" or companies which claim to have a network of "good trade lines" in which one can use to add 200+ point to your credit score? I have heard of "piggy backing" which is perfecly leagle however I am sceptical about spending $2000 for a network of trade lines that don't esist........................No opinions please!

I have the possiblity that I might be sued for a delinquent credit card bill. They take you to court and sue you for payment, and it is called a credit card judgment (CCJ), and they can garnish your wages or take from your savings, etc.

Does anyone know, can you declare bankruptcy after the judgment (CCJ) is made, and have the CCJ included under the bankruptcy protection? Can you declare bankruptcy and have the CCJ as a part of it? Someone tried to tell me that it becomes a "secure" debt that you can't include in a bankruptcy, once the court makes a CCJ judgment.

Thank you in advance.

I was contacted by a collection agency about a debt from WI that I had 10 years ago. It was a state debt (Unemployment compensation to be exact). They went to court and got a judgement against me back then, they then reported to the WI Circuit Court Access System which the date was in August 1997. I guess my question is, can the collection agency still try to collect after all this time? I currently live in another state for the past 10 years and the collection agency is local. Please, only real and credible answers please!

Hi, I turned 18 on September 16th and opened a student credit card issued by citi, and then the other day I went shopping, and saw with a macys card u get good discounts...was that a good idea on my part to open a macys card?

Im a very disciplined card holder, and leave my cards home so I dont get tempted, but I heard it is bad for ur credit score to have 2 accounts open.

Any truth?

Hi, my question says all of it for the most part. If the number of credit checks in the past sixth month can negatively affect my credit rating, what if I'm shopping for car insurance and i'm getting quotes left and right? All insurance companies are checking my credit report when they run my quote. Wouldn't that be unfair if that lowers my credit score?
Thanks!

I wrote to all our creditors recently to offer a full and final settlement figure for our debts. Most turned the offers down, but one accepted and one offered to consider us for a partial settlement. I would like to clear some of these debts, but I don't really understand the difference between the two options and I'm worried about the implications for our credit in the future. Should I just ignore the partial settlement offer or is it worth considering?

How can I get creditors to stop harrassing me? They are driving me insane! They keep calling multiple times a day on my cell phone, and I don't even pick up anymore... it's been almost 3 months, when are they gonna give up. If I had the money I would pay it, but I'm literally living paycheck-to-paycheck. I've tried telling them to stop calling me, but they dont listen. How can I get them to stop?
