I was asking a question about how do you get ahead of your car note payments so I can pay it off quick?

Ohsogirly is right, the months where there are 5 weeks is what does it. When you get paid 3 times in one month that's the time to pay extra. Also if you get a bonus or anything extra send it in and enclose a note asking them to apply it to interest only. Do you smoke or have any bad habits like that? My friend smokes a pack a day and 1 tall Starbuck's Coffey at $3/day. The cig's add up to $120 a month if there are 30 days @ $4/pack and $90 for Coffey every month. She's always late on her car note, but you 'll never see her begging for a cigarette. That's $210 a month. You get the idea. Look at what you do on a daily basis.

First of all, that's great that you want to get ahead of the game. Nothing like peace of mind!! Most finance companies (check with yours) will allow automatic payments. Meaning, if you get paid every two weeks, have your bank send in 1/2 the pymnt each time. i.e. your car pymnt is $400/mo. If you pay $200 each time you get paid, you're automatically making at least 1 extra car pymnt a year. There months that we have 5 Fridays, most people get 3 paychecks. G'luck...

Send the extra money to the lender. Call them and send written documentation on how you want the money to be used and request a written confirmation from the lender on how it was done. Some lenders will put it towards the principal left on the loan so your loan repayment period would end sooner. Some will give the option to use the money to pay an extra month in advance (i.e. you send payments for Nov & Dec, in Nov. Next payment would be due in Jan.)
