I recently applied for a credit card with 0% interest for 9 months on balance transfers. I transfered balances from 3 cards to this card. Two of them were done electronically but for the last card they sent me a check in the mail. I do not understand what to do. It says I am to deposit the check into my checking account and pay the other card if the check is payable to me alone. But the check says it is payable to me and the card company as well. Do I deposit the check into my checking account and pay the card company or do I mail the check itself to the card company? It will be kind of difficult to send the check itself as I get electronic statements for that card and pay my bills online.

We have 3 credit cards: Balance of 530 with 19.8%, 1640 and 1738 both at 29.99%. My hubby had cosigned for his older brother a car and we had to take it from him. It was in a wreck (hit and run) and did not have coverage (his brother lied). We are waiting on the police report. We were going to take the car and sell it but now that it is damaged we must fix it first. We do not have the money. We have been approved for a $6k loan at 28.33% (I assume it is an unsecured loan) with a term of 60 mos and the payment will be 188 a month. In april we will move into a cheaper house to free up some cash and we plan on paying the loan off long before the 60 mos. Does this sound like a good plan? Any advice?

PS Please no lectures about what we should not have done. We know and what's done is done, just trying to fix the mess we are in. Thank you!

we are not really getting ready to fall behind or anything but it seems like it would make sence to consolidate rather than paying them all off sepratly with high interest rates.will this hurt our credit .what should we do

I have had this one credit card for about 7 or 8 months. I am building my credit, so this was the first card I ever had. The credit limit has been and started out at $200, I have always paid it in full and owe no balance. But, it is costing me $6 a month just to have it and they won't increase my credit limit for another 6 months. Is this credit card worth keeping? I have other credit cards now and they have much bigger credit limits and I get rewards and stuff.

Was approved for a loan, signed paperwork, took car home on 12/15. It is now 12/31... and I am told the car is still not funded. Finance guy says don't worry about it, that i was approved, and everything is fine. Is 16 days or so too long for the credit union to fund the dealer? They said the credit union is stalling. I was approved with a great interest rate and so on.

I also pulled my credit report today and saw several companies that the dealer pulled reports for, also pulled reports again today.

Whats your opinion on all this?

What are my legal grounds?

Im ready to smack these people with a lawsuit for all the headache Ive dealt with.... the list goes on... thank god for motrin.

My dad got me a VISA gift card for $100. He said that where ever they took VISA I could use it!
I was trying to buy a song on iTunes and I entered the credit card number and the security code and everything!
But it said that it wasn't a valid credit card!
Why is it that I cant buy things online with this card?
Or atleast on iTunes, where they DO take VISA?

I have been hearing about a pay-for-delete agreement?
What is this?
And I have also heard that if a collection is over 5 years old, don't try to pay it off because it will hurt your score rather than help it,
I;m trying to figure this out because my husband has some collections on his credit from years ago , before we were togther, and its hurting his credit, and now that we are toghter I want to try and clean his credit up. His score is a 545, and we need at least a 580 or better to get financing for a home. Would it be better to get a credit consouler?

One of my family members had a debt of $6700 from 2004. She did not start paying on it until last year (Late 2006). She has paid about $1800 toward it since then, but here's the catch:

After pulling her credit report this week, it showed that this collection debt was actually closed in 2005 and has had a $0 balance since then.

I am interested in helping my family member get this money back from the collection agency, since the $1800 she paid to them was paid *after* the debt was already closed with a zero-balance and reported on her credit.

1) What would be the best way to approach the collection agency about getting this money back?

2) If they refuse to return the total of these payments, what could be the best course of action to further pursue the matter or convince them they must return the money?

Thanks to all of you, in advance, for any help & suggestions you can provide.

My husband loaned his brother $10,000.00 back in June 07. Now his brother refuses to start paying him back. We evern tried working out a easy payment plan for him but he still hasn't made one payment. He wont return his phone calls or emails. We're thinking about contacting a lawyer since we can't get him to cooperate with us. It was DEFINITELY a LOAN. It even says "loan" on the check. Does anyone have any information on how we can get our money back?

I have a bill at a collection agency and I had set up payments before coming directly out of my checking acct but I decided not to renew and pay myself via their website. I got a call and I was told that if I didn't set up another automatic debit they would seek judgement against me and begin garnishing my wages. She also went on to say that she saw where I was getting a substantial income tax this year and where I was working again (none of which is true). Can they do that as long as I am paying or are these just scare tactics?

I know that the majority of you reading this question . . . you're outraged, but in the past, times got extremely hard. I had to do something and because of my credit, this was my only option. The fees are killing me. My girlfriend is no longer employed, therefore . . . I'm taking care of the bills. What happens if I choose not to pay these loans? I'm worried. I'm stressed. I've even began having anxiety attacks due to the stress. Serious answers only please. I'm in need of help.

I have 2 cads that carry a balance, one has 132 dollars on it the other has 700. I just recieved an offer from Chase with Chase Visa Plantium Card, that offers 0% intersts on balance tranfers and no balance transfer fee, untill January 2009 also no annual membership fee.

I'm thinking of applying for it and trading the 700 dollars onto it, because, currently I pay 20% interest on it. So that about 10-15 in interest each month. And I would have that paid off by January 2009.

So what do you think, Yes or No?
Any advice is apprecitated.

Just wondering if a bank will notify you before they reposses your car? My boyfriend and I are a month behind on our payment. The lender called us and we agreed to send a little more the next due date. It was due on the 20th and due to unexpected bills, I am just now mailing out a check tomorrow for the original amount. They called a couple days ago and left a message but i havent called back yet. How long will wait to do a repo? Thanks!

A friend of mine has taken out a few payday loans and cannot repay them now that they are do. She plans on being able to take care of them within 30 days. Do these places negotiate or work out a reasonable plan and what if you put a stop pay on the account they would have access to if it was done online?

Thanks

I have a bill for $90 that I just got a letter from saying that if I don't pay within seven days it'll be reported to the credit bureau. I already talked to these people like three weeks ago telling them I couldn't pay until Jan 10 when I get my money for my school loan and is that ok, and they said it's fine..so obviously I need to call them back about that. But, if they don't let me wait until then, how badly this going to affect my credit? Right now I have good credit. Will it still be hurt if I ended up paying the balance only like five days after the date they said they will report it?
