I recently applied for a credit card with 0% interest for 9 months on balance transfers. I transfered balances from 3 cards to this card. Two of them were done electronically but for the last card they sent me a check in the mail. I do not understand what to do. It says I am to deposit the check into my checking account and pay the other card if the check is payable to me alone. But the check says it is payable to me and the card company as well. Do I deposit the check into my checking account and pay the card company or do I mail the check itself to the card company? It will be kind of difficult to send the check itself as I get electronic statements for that card and pay my bills online.

It wont be difficult at all for you to get the address for the statement that you pay online...a pain in the rectum, yes, difficult? NO
there should be a help or a contact us button.
You will even have a phone number on your bank statement and if both of those fail, On the back of the credit card there is a phone number
call that and get the statement and mail the check to them.
The faster the better because some card companies play games with the payoff checks as they know that they are going to miss your business.
Best of luck to you

Here is a possible situation...I stress "possible" because there would be no way of knowing for sure without knowing which companies we are talking about.

But I can tell you that when I worked for Macy's, we would not accept electronic balance transfers from other banks, instead requesting that the checks be actually mailed to us or taken to the store.

Basically, it's just one roadblock (albeit a minor one) in trying to keep the balance on the high interest account.

If the check is made out to you and the credit card company, you can not deposit it. You should endorse it and send it to the company. Check their site. There should be a remittance address show there.
