Ok so my dad gave me a credit card. Yea, yea im spoiled say whatever, its in my name. The background though, on the actual card, is just really inappropriate (its of a college, the one my dad went to.. a rival of the college i'm going to this fall). I know its easy to get a replacement card (just say i lost it or whatever), but how can I choose a different background? Seriously, I know it's just a background and its money and it shouldn't matter.. but I get asked by people if I go to that college all the time and its embarrasing.. cuz then its like "oh my dad went there" and obviously they just think I'm some spoiled prick. OR, they think I'm some kid who thinks he's hot **** and gets a credit card with the college he's going to as the background, which is in fact, quite lame. What should I do?

My boyfriend got a letter from credit card that he owed money from 8 or 9 years ago. I have the same credit card, and I am worried if we were to join finances like we talked about that the company will go after me for the money.

I had left USA around 4 years back as I could not get a job(software). When I left I had credit card debt. Now i want to be back and normalize my debt. I currently dont have a job. I checked my credit report on the internet but confused with the terms. Its certain that collection agency must be trying to locate me. I cant figure out my current debt, thats when I left and now(including interest?). I need help in how to take the first step and how its going to affect my job-hunt.

I heard that by having someone add your name onto their credit card, then never use it then you will start to get offers for credit cards, and you will have the same credit history that the person has. And it is all legal. But get someone who trust you, that has good credit.

I have a credit card debt of $5,000 and a bank loan for $3,000. I'm still behind on the minimum and it feels like I'm not even making a dent in the interest. The bank has been harrassing me and calling me even more lately and they've been getting extremely pushy. I've been working part time while I finished up a summer anatomy class and I start my fulltime status next week so I can get paid more, obviously. My question is should I go to a credit counseling place? Or should I try to handle this myself? And I haven't even touched basis with the credit card company. I was young and made stupid mistakes and now that I've finally got my life turned around, I have to deal with those consequences. My credit is already ruined and I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?
