Ok so my dad gave me a credit card. Yea, yea im spoiled say whatever, its in my name. The background though, on the actual card, is just really inappropriate (its of a college, the one my dad went to.. a rival of the college i'm going to this fall). I know its easy to get a replacement card (just say i lost it or whatever), but how can I choose a different background? Seriously, I know it's just a background and its money and it shouldn't matter.. but I get asked by people if I go to that college all the time and its embarrasing.. cuz then its like "oh my dad went there" and obviously they just think I'm some spoiled prick. OR, they think I'm some kid who thinks he's hot **** and gets a credit card with the college he's going to as the background, which is in fact, quite lame. What should I do?

I dont "show it off" to people or anything like that, but I use it every day to buy groceries, food, whatever. He doesn't give me cash, just the card.

You don't have to say it was lost or anything. Just call the number on the back (customer service) and ask if they can possibly give you a new card with a different background. If they can, it would be sent in the mail and when you activate the new one, cut the old one up.

If this doesn't work, then I guess thank your lucky stars that you get to have this credit card and accept that your dad is stickin' it to you with the rival college logo. It's kind of funny...

look on the back of the card, and there will be a 1-800 #.

Tell customer support for your credit card exactly what you told us. You hate the background on the card. A lot of the time, they can issue an exact copy of the card with the same credit card number, but with a different background! When you receive that card in the mail, you can destroy and dispose of the embarrassing rival college card you currently have.

I'd call the credit card company and ask. It's probably not a problem. Any company putting out cards with a college logo likely puts them out for all the major schools.

Have fun with that and don't tell me - you're going to A&M and your dad went to UT? Or....you're going to OU, in which case, just stay on that side of the border! LOL!

Stop showing people your credit card or stopping crying like a baby.

Write the card company and see if they have other options of card backgrounds. See if your dad has his school it would be nice if you have rival cards/schools.
It's not bad you're pick everyone has their idiosyncrasies.

It would be awesome if that was my biggest problem. Anyway, just get a replacement and tell your dad you need one with your college on it so you don't look like a dork.
