dikheads? Is there really any point in dealing with them to resolve a debt. Most people make bad choices when their young as far their credit. They are not thinking about the future affect of what they're doing and how they will need their credit later. I hate collectors who act like diks.... but anyway should I try to settle my small lil debt with a collction agency or just let it go for another 2 years I have left??

I recently buggered off to Australia and "forgot" about about 200£ still unpaid on a loan. How lobg does it take for the bad credit rating to go away? Or will it EVER go away? I want to buy a house soon, and be able to get a credit card. I am home 2 years now and it still is in place!

I was eighteen when I got my cell phone contract and had no established credit so I had to put in a deposit, but I am aware of the three major companies used to check credit, but I don't want to know what my credit score is, but rather how much a contract like this raises your credit score on average

I owe about $3000 to credit card company a few years ago. It went to collection agency, now they tells me I owe $6000. I tried to settle the debt with them. But They told me, they could ony settle with 80% of the debt and no payment plans for me.
I have 2 little ones now and one on the way. I just can't pay large amount at once.
Agency also told me that I have 30days ( I have 3day left until then ), otherwise It'll go to local attorneys office..

What do I do next? I don't want to get serve with a paper or have to deal as court.

Okay so I was a full-time student and ran into some financial problems and my credit suffered and needless to say I didn't really care at the time, my focus was on receiving my degree. Now I realized that it has hurt me a great deal and I have about 5 old charge-off's, my question is " If I pay these credit cards now, will it actually help my credit be regained? " and if so do you think it would be worth paying $5000 on old debt or should I pocket the money and take a vacation??

Ok reason why i ask. 6 years ago i ran into some bad credit situations. i had a card with a 10k balance, never pd for it and never had collectors after me. I then recived from call from a guy wanting that money. i laughed and said yea right, i then recived a summons to court. After doing some research, i showed up to court and told them that they were outside of the Statue of Limitations. This is CA, the case was thrown out...

I'm looking to see how a company like First Data or Mastercard makes money. I read that JPMorganChase decided to move away from First Data to process their cards.

Can someone explain how First Data makes money (not via Western Union)?

Am I to understand that they "process" the credit card or debit payment? So if they process payments for a particular bank or credit card company, they make a fee for every transaction? What is that fee normally?

Is this in addition to the fees Mastercard or Visa makes as well?

It seems to me that credit card usage will keep increasing, even in rough economic times, and that the companies that will benefit would be companies like First Data and Mastercard. Can someone chime in on that? Thanks in advance!

I have sent a letter Certified return receipt to NCO financial. The letter stated that I wanted proof of a debt they claim I owe and also stated that from this point on I only want to be contacted via mail. I received the returned receipt back and it was dated 7/24 as delivered. Today I got another phone call from them claiming they have not received the letter. I told them that it was illegal for them to contact me but I want to know who do I complain now to that they are continuing contact?

I have bad credit-around 560 or so-my car is paid off (by working together with my husband who had bought it before we met but he gave it to me since I helped pay it off) and my name is on the title. We need the car to get to work and need a loan $1500-3,000 to pay off bills and get caught up. Any ideas.
