If you make lots of money, why would you get a credit card ? if you know that you have the money to pay for what you need, then a credit card might weigh you down.

On the other hand, if you are like me. and make a lot of money, but knows that it randomly disappears from paycheck to paycheck, then you might want to get a credit card. I have been wondering the same thing about credit cards, and I still need to do my research.

Dont get a card, if you have money. If you are independant, and sometimes struggle here and there, go for the card. But be responsible.

If i find anything out I will let you know, you can get in contact with me. Trust Me You KNOW how 2 reach me. by the way. The name's illa

Do you know your credit score now? Before you go off applying for credit cards: Please find out what your score is. You may end up dropping your score if you apply for unnecessary credit shortly before you apply for a mortgage. The average time for a credit card is 2 years. Any period less than that may detract from your credit score. If you must: Try a store card first. They don't charge any annual fees and if you need to establish your credit they are a good way to start. To limit your interest charges, make a small purchase and divide the payments into 3 months. Some states will allow you to break up your purchase payments and NOT pay any interest. I think PA is one of them. Best of Luck!

Desperation is never the time to get a credit card. It only makes things worse. Establish credit first. There are plenty with no annual fees, but if your credit already sucks, the percentage rate will be at the highest possible.

You have a couple options.

----Go back to the yahoo home page and find the credit card banner. it will pre-select credit cards that you qualify with your credit as it stands now.

----Most banks, I know for sure that Bank of America will give you a secured credit card with a $200 credit line. Maybe not that high, but it will help you establish credit and have a real credit card if you need to rent a car.

----Do you have a debit card? That has the Visa logo and will even allow you to rent cars (generally with a $100 cash deposit)

----Try the lower stores like Sears, Hechts. If you can maintain a good payment history for six months, credit card offers will be coming to you weekly.

Word of advice....I'm not called Diva for nothing. Be careful yougn buck. Diva jacked up her credit so bad she couldn't get a condomn from the indian store with a DNA sample. It took me YEARS to recover and it's hard as hell. Now a days people can do background checks, employers want to know if you're a "needy crack head" looking for an opening to rob them of their millions. Only use it when you need to and make MORE than the minimum balance. Good Luck!

I am not sure why you need a credit card. Do not borrow money for anything that does not make you money. If you need a card for other reasons car rental, motel etc get a bank check card you have a visa that comes right out of your checking account.
