Recently, I went to check my credit score and when I entered my social security number, all of my sister's information showed up. Her name, address, and work history was associated with my number! My sister is not exactly the person I want as a "number double". Does this mean my sister is stealing my credit and if so what do I do? What if it is a simple mistake, how do I fix it?

friend who established great credit over the years, however he ran out of money, was fed up with this culture/society and decided to travel around the world on credit. He had an incredible time-eating and sleeping in five star fashion and charging all of it-but he is broke. He says that he no longer cares about having good credit and that the credit companies can't do anything because he has no money and does not own anything-he spent the money travelling, not aquiring possessions-they can't take away used flights/hotel rooms and food, etc. And he has no children, so he is not concerned about his debt being passed on. I am in awe of what he has done and not knowing how the credit system works, I want to know how he is able to travel around the world for free?????

A woman reviewing my credit at a credit union today said that it generally looks bad if my report has been accessed 6 times in one year by credit card companies or lenders. When I access it myself...is that a strike against me too?

I'm looking for a personal loan for school but all i get is credit card offer for a limit of 300 with a fee of $72 leaving a whole $228 not to mention the super high interest rate, or payday loans of up to $500. Does anyone know any life saving company's out there that are willing to help people with great jobs, and great pays?

I have decent credit but I had cancelled all my cards when trying to get out of debt. I am now free of all unsecured debt but I need to have a card so in the future I won't be hurt by having no credit.

I'm thinking I want a card with no annual fee and a low APR. The card would only be used very occassionally and paid off immediately. I have no desire to repeat previous mistakes.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good card for this purpose?

I recently had a charge on my credit card I did not expect. When I called the retailer they say it was for work I had done 10 months ago that had never been billed. It almost seems like this should be their lose for taking so long to bill it.
