Recently, I went to check my credit score and when I entered my social security number, all of my sister's information showed up. Her name, address, and work history was associated with my number! My sister is not exactly the person I want as a "number double". Does this mean my sister is stealing my credit and if so what do I do? What if it is a simple mistake, how do I fix it?

From my experience, I would say the credit bureau made the mistake, and it's not your sister.

Are any of the accounts listed on your credit report NOT yours? Is the only inaccurate information just "personal" information?

Any time the credit burear ever discovered a relationship they may place that info on your record. It doesn't mean ID theft, so don't panic yet.

To get this off your record, simply send a dispute letter to the agency and tell them the name has no business being on your report and please remove it.

If they don't, or give you any problems, then you can move on to further steps to get it removed, up to filing a lawsuit against them for posting inaccurate information on your credit report. Contact me if you need further advice.

Don't confront your sister yet until you have more facts. No sense causing family problems until you know for sure.
