I made payments but a collection agency is ruining my credit by attempting to collect the entire debt. My husband is deceaased and I did use the card. I was not a joint user.

I heard that simply being married to someone with a low credit score will lower yours. I heard that it doesn't matter if you do not have joint credit or loans, it will automatically go down. Is this true?

I am 18 and have no interest credit card. I want to know whether you build a good credit history faster by paying it off each month or if you carry a balance over is this bad? If you carry over do u not get as many points or does this not matter?

Would there be some advantages to having some credit purchasing power for the business rather than just using cash?

I am new to Yahoo answers.

This is my first question.

I have bad credit and need a card or several that reports to the credit bureaus.

Can you please send me a link to a place I can apply for a really good card that will help build my credit?

My ex had added me onto his credit card and it has a really high limit with a very low balance, so my credit score went up. Well, I just canceled the card b/c we broke up.... will it now go down? Or do I have to make a late payment or something for it to go down?

My wife wrote a check that bounced due to unforeseen circumstances. To make it short, it was turned over to collections in Washington State, Clark County. She was the primary on the account but I was added several months before the check or collection action. The collection action was against me and not her. It's on my credit report and not hers. They dealt with her (signer) but never pursued her for collections. It was paid off in full on 11/2005. I called the collection agency to find out why they went after me and not the person who wrote the check. I was told because, "your the man, you’re the primary on the checking account, I am not, because we had your SSN, because WA state is a community property state. Can they discriminate like that just because I am a man?

Hi there,

I just was approved yesterday for a Sears Mastercard and I understand
that I can apply it to many different things, not only Sears. My question
is, since the card has not yet arrived in the mail, how do I access my
new card number and use the card today, in this case to pay for the
movies? The card number is not on the new receipt. I will call their
800 number if need be, but thought I would ask here first, thanks!!

Are credit card payments applied to oldest balance or lowest or highest interest?

Which way does it go?

Anyone know in particular about WAMU (Providian) credit card payments?

Thanks!

I'm in my third year of law school, will definitely have a job upon graduation, and have found the perfect condo. Is it worth my time to even TRY to get a loan? I have very good credit, but, obviously, a negative income (student loans).
