My husband and myself had a lone 3-4 years ago, not sure how much it was for,a charging order was put on my property for £ 32000, in my name only which we have now paid. My husband has now recieved notice of seizure of goods from the same bank for the same amount of money via a different collection agency, although we borrowed a lot it was not in excess of £60000, in fact it was more like £10000-£15000. Are they allowed to chase money from us individually even though the origanal loan was in joint names and we are still together

I have about 7500 in credit card debt with 5 cards, which I am paying off right now, but I would like to transfer all or most of the balances to one higher limit credit card. How do I convince them to approve me? Most of my applications have been rejected based on too much revolving debt, but if I get approved for this card then my revolving debt will go down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A friend paid off her boyfriend's car loan (it was repo'd) with her money. They signed a loan agreement that said he would pay it back (don't know the complete details). Is he legally bound to pay it back?

If anyone can answer this and explain it in a way that won't make my head explode, you'll get 10 shiny new points!

I'm sooo bad at math! My monthly payment is $214, and the interest rate is 22%. I called today and was told that if I paid the car off today it would be $930.99. I had originally thought the car would be paid off in January, but now it's looking more like February.

This concern stems from a debt collector company that refuses to contact me with written correspondence after numerous attempts at contact - but still are claiming that I owe them the full amount of a debt I owed 4 years ago (in the ballpark of $6k) - and they are claiming the same debt twice on my credit report (one from the original credit - and one from the debt collector).

How expensive would it be to hire a lawyer? I would like to hire one for the purpose of communicating with them that I would pay them 10-20% of the total - as opposed to the 90% they want - basically because they are junk debt buyers that probably bought it for 2 cents per dollar owed.

Please let me know if you have any advice as to which direction I should take. Thanks.

I am about 1 step away from filing bankruptcy and I am scared. To anyone else who has filed, how bad does this affect you? I in no way want to ever get this deep in debt and don’t plan on using credit cards for a long long time but really how bad does this hurt you? I understand that your credit is shot to sh*t but can anyone give me any advice/heads-up, any info that would help?
Thanks.

If a person ever qualified for a loan.

my tenant says he qualified for a loan that his friend did for him. I later found out that they both have a history of 10 evictions.

I recently found out that my utility bills were still under my name after we broke up. My ex moved into a new place and had my name transferred to her new address..Unbelievable. I found this out since I got a bill of $600 total from the utility companies. I ofcourse filed a dispute. What measures should I take? Should I file a police report? What measures will the utility companies take? Would they make her pay? I am just really furious upon this situation and for her to put me in this situation.

Do you think that individuals who have credit cards, but can not pay more than the minimum payments (which means they can not pay back that debt) or all individuals who have ever filed bankruptcy are immoral? Interesting question here. Just curious what others think?
