We received a debit or credit card from the Red Cross because we were flooded out of our apartment, I am trying to find out how much balance is, we've used it a few times. I found a site once but now I'm just searching . it also has a chase bank logo.

I am 26 years old and I don't have a credit score. I have unpaid medical bills on my report. They don't add up to much so I should be able to pay them off fairly easy when I have extra money. How can I get credit so that I can have a score? Every credit card that I wanted to apply to (that would even give me one) has all kinds of fees and doesn't seem worth it to me. I have student loans which I don't have to start paying back until I graduate (2009). Will these loans help improve my credit when I start paying them back? If so, what can I do now to get a credit score? I want to buy a house in the next couple of years but I need to build my credit first. Any suggestions?

Last year I signed a lease to help 3 of my friends. They moved into a 4 bedroom apartment and per stipulations from the property management, it required 4 lesees or else they would have to move into a smaller place, which the complex didn't have. I signed, but I repeatedly emphasized that I could NOT afford to move in. I was told not to worry, I was just a signature to help them keep their place. They said that they would pay in cash, or if I happened to be around (it wasn't often), they'd give me the cash so I could write a check. Either way it would be taken care of. I thought everything was okay, as they are responsible people. Then a few months later "I" was served with an eviction notice because "my" rent wasn't paid. I have a collections agency after me for $1000 debt that I wasn't supposed to have. I didn't know what to do then, and my 30 day window for dispute is gone. Now, I'm being told that there could be legal action involved, and possible garnishment. How can I fix this?

This technology is used all throughout Europe, and specifically in the UK - they have made it mandatory, and have outlawed signatures as authentication for purchases. I will be traveling to the UK soon, and will need a credit card with this chip to buy anything.

I have called Bank of America and CITI so far, and they didn't even know what the technology was. Can anyone help?

I recently got a copy of my credit report & it shows a 60 day late payment on my Sears card & a 30 day late for my Providian card. Both of these are accurate, however took place in 2001. Is there any way I could get these late payments removed from my credit?
Is anyone willing to share a sample letter they may have used to do this or a link to a letter like this?

I have really good credit, but have a really high interest rate on my credit card! I know there are ways to get it lowered, but how do I go about doing that? What exactly do I say to them?

My husband and I just refinanced our home and paid off all open loans (both cars and all credit cards). Our only obligation is now our house payment. I would imagine that our credit scores will improve pretty soon, but some people say it will be at least a year until that will show up. Anyone know for sure?

I have got 5 credit cards all with high monthly payments I need one loan to pay off these debts and nobody will help.

I am a council tenant, self employed cash in hand with only commission slips to prove my income. My working tax gets paid into my bank account so I have bank statements just showing my tax credits. On all these cards I pay every month and never missed a payment ( Why dont they take this into account). I would never miss a loan payment as it would be direct debit I just need to reduce my monthly payments Does anyone know a sympathetic lender that will help me. Without going through debt management agency?

I go to all these companies that say they can help and they all say no, what am I to do?

Thank you

Debbie

I'm asking this question for my mom because she's paranoid about depositing a check that is written out to my dad, but he died 2 years ago. It's a deposit from AT&T because I have recently switched phone companies and my mom never switched the name because the phone company kept saying it didn't matter as long as someone paid the bill.
