I recently got offered a job with an Audit Firm. They want to check my credit befoer making a final offer. I checked my score and it stands at 680. I had a collectiong issue about three and half years ago for $330. It was not my fault so I dont want to pay it. Will this affect my chances? what is a good credit score.

Please answer only if you know for sure about the subject.

ok, I had a problem last year and I didn't pay a chase credit card with a balance of 200 bucks. well of course they added interest late fees and over limit fees every month and now the balance is 1000 bucks. It has been sent to a collection agency and they called me and told me that i would be going to court to have the matter settled which will cost me money in legal fees etc....
is this true? or does it just go to bad credit on my report? Are the people that bought the chargeoff just trying to scare me into paying it?
thanks for your answers...

IM looking for a good company that can help me out with my debts. I have over £10000 worth of debt to different things like credit cards and unsecured loans. Does anyone know of a company that could help me out with either a loan or a debt management.

I shipped out goods and did not get paid. D&B's demand letters are not working, often get ignored by debtors. I need an agent or attorney who is reliable and effective in recovering my money, do somebody know someone who is good in this ?

Because I pay it off in full every month. Because I have quite a lot of money in my savings account [Yes, I know I'm lucky] and pay all my bills on time, in cash, don't have a cheque book or a debit card or direct debits etc., Barclaycard have decided that I'm not a good risk! My card with them is the only card I have, I only use it to buy things off the internet really and pay it off in full when the statement comes through. Surely they should have me down as a good risk? Anyone else had these prats saying their credit is no good just because you pay on time and you're NOT in debt to anyone? Maybe if I ran up debtts all over would I then be considered a good risk?

i want to build or buy a house but havent found one or havent found a place to build one yet. i want to take advantage of these low rates right now. is there anyway i can start paying on a mortgage now and lock in my interest rate, then when i find what i want i would have this low interest rate and already have paid some on it????? or is there a way i can get a say 200,000 mortgage, put the money in a cd, then when im ready i could take the money out, use it to pay for the house.

i know someone is going to say to just put howevermuch money the payment is going to be, and put it in savings then when im ready, i would have that savings for a bigger down payment, and that would offset the cost of having a higher interest.

well thats just too hard to do for me. its easy for me to make payments but real hard to put money in savings. any suggestions????

What options do u have if u cannot afford to make student loan payments? Would consolidation be a wise thing with 3 seperate student loans? Plus they are not federal student loans, my mistake there. I really need some good advice, I worry myself almost everyday. Payments don't start till after Christmas.

Hi there, I have no credit, so I applyed and was accepted for a student visa card. my limit it going to me 700 dollars.
I am curious first of all to know how long into your first card does it take to establish credit, i really want a specific charge card for a shop I like but i was denied for having no credit, so now that i have a visa card, how long do you think till i have an established credit report??
Also with a 700 limit, what exactly does that mean?? obviously I can only put that much on there , but say I reached 700 then payed off 300, does that mean i have 400 again i can put on there?? thanks for all the info.

about a year and a half ago i found out there were a few things on my credit that wasn't mine, of course bad things, credit cards i never had cause i've never had one and wrong middle name and addresses on my credit report. i got in touch with all 3 credit co's and put a watch for the 90days allowed, filed disputes with all, filed a police report even called phone numbers that belonged to addresses on my report. thought things were cleared up but recently i just received a letter from one of the same collection agencies for the same s*** after over a year of hearing nothing. so, WHAT CAN I DO TO REALLY FIX THIS? DO I HIRE AN ATTORNEY AND IF SO WHAT KIND? thanks!

I see all those sites and crap for a free credit report but it never actually ends up free...
I ended up getting screwed and stuff got opened in my name when I turned 18, cause I have such a common name or something... either way it was pretty bad for awhile and I havent checked it in about 2 years and wanted to know a cheap or decent way to go about getting it checked just to see where Im at...
So maybe I can apply for a credit card, or get a cell phone in my name, without it costing $500 up front, etc...

I have good to great credit, but my current card has me at 28% interest. Probably because I was careless about paying on time years ago, but there have been no lates on my credit report for the past 4 years. I pay it off completely within the 25 days 99% of the time, but last month I couldn't and I got burned. I asked them if a lower rate was available, they told me no.

So I'm definitely going to close this one out at the end of the month and look for another one. I really only use it to shop online (I'd rather use my debit card day to day), or for a couple of things like car insurance that I have to tie to a credit card. I'm looking for a low interest, no annual fee, gold card that covers car rentals and would like some type of awards program but can live without that. Thanks for any advice.
