There really is no time frame for it showing on your credit report. Most landlords or prospective sellers will check your past by calling past people. Most are too stingy to pay the costs of doing a credit check.

Don't mention you lived in that place and what happened, or be honest and confront the issues that held you back and how you will rectify them in this situation.

Most importantly is be ready to supply a list of at least 3 relatives or friends that can vouch for your responsibility.

depends on why you got evicted....and if its in cali you'll probably be able to find another place to live somehow...some people don't even do a credit check.
