as long as you pay the bill and do not use the card at anytime during the time you are paying it then yes. the credit card company will want your cancellation in writing they may also impose sometype of penality for early repayment like some credit companys but i can say i have not heard about this from the likes of capital one or barclays. make sure when you do get rid of the card u cut it up reall well as it can still try to be used by criminals.

Yes you can cancel a credit card at anytime but you will have to pay off the balance according to your credit card terms. You should also notify the credit card issuer to notify the credit bureau that the account was closed per owners request. This protects your history by showing you closed the account and not the credit card issuer.

You can cancel it at any time provided you pay off the balance.

If you just want credit to buy a laptop, a personal loan will probably be cheaper. See what your bank can do.

Yes you can. You can even cancel it before repaying the entire balance. You still owe the money but can no longer charge anything new on the canceled card.

Yes, as long as you don't owe any balance on it. Some card companies may request a written or typed letter to confirm your intention.

You certainly can - and make sure you cut it up too!

But it will probably a lot cheaper to get a personal loan over a short time period
