I have extensive eBay experience.

The eBay response will come from the seller once HE acknowledges receipt of the order. It has been my experience that this can be anywhere from 1 day to 1 week...depending on the activity of the seller. If they are doing this as a business...They are usually prompt. If they are a casual user it can vary greatly.

One thing Iearned is to be patient and not assume the worst. As long as the seller has a good rating and you used Paypal it usually ends up the way it should be.

If you don't receive your item, Paypal has very good dispute methods and protects the consumer first.

With paypal it's all checking account or credit card transfers, so DON'T send money in the mail. Sometimes it can take up to two weeks for a Paypal transaction to go through, but most of the time it only takes one or two days. If you want to make sure the seller has been paid, e-mail them and tell them you submitted payment via PayPal.
