I filled out a credit card application and realized afterwards that I didn't put the rigght socia security number down. Everything is correct on the application except for the last digit of my social security number. Can I get in trouble for this? What should I do?

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you...mistakes happen all the time. You aren't going to get in trouble for something like this. You also aren't going to get the credit card though. If you really want the card just call the company and explain what happened and reapply over the phone. Usually you can get automatically apporovaed if you apply over the phone anyway.

You cant get in trouble, but obviously they wouldn't approve you, because they'll realize that your history doesn't match, so it will trigger a warning flag that you may have been doing it on purpose. Just call the company and tell them, that way they know on record you were aware of the problem and trying to fix it. It's not a big deal really. People type in the wrong thing all the time and call to tell us, where I work.

If you know the number of the company yo sent the application to call them. If not you should ere from them as your information won't match up with the information for that ss number. You might have to re-apply at some point. Definitly not a federal offense, mistakes happen.
