Thx. I now know what the 3% handling charge is.

The card is 0% for 12 months on purchases. I take it that means that with the handling fee all i would pay is the 3% on any purchases I make? Thx.

A 3% handling fee first of all is ridiculous. You will have an interest rate as it is and the company will make enough money from you just with that. A handling fee is simply a handling fee, just as it sounds. Look at it similar to something like shipping and handling. They want to charge you to bill you every month, set up an account for you, and all of those other little details. I would look around some more before you commit to anything like that. Many credit card company's do not charge a handling fee. If you are just trying to build some credit, go to First Premier bank, or Capitol One and apply for a credit card with a limit of $250 to $500. Pay that off, over a years time and your credit report will show that you are in good standing. Then you will get better offers from credit card company's with lower interest rates and NO handling charges. Hope this helps

My travel agent charges a 1% handling fee,if I pay by credit card.

This means that I pay an extra 1% on top of the cost

say £1000 + 1% =£1010.

3% would be an extra £30 on every £1000 spent.

Handling charges are best described as fees charged on the process of rendering servises. therefore handling charges on credit cards are charges on the protection, security, transfer, sequential movements of the cards as the user will use it frequently. Such charges are better computed and included in the face value of the cards and tax paid thereof.

If you are going to transfer a debt from another card, they will charge you 3% of this up front - you transfer £1000, they charge you £30, so your new debt will be £1030.

If you withdraw cash, this will incure a handling fee
